Recipes For Cakes From Scratch

Carol asks…

I am looking for a very moist yellow cake made from scratch recipe?

I can not eat a lot of things so using just the basic ingredients, flour (not cake flour, just all purpose flour), milk, butter, sugar, eggs, baking powder and/or baking soda, and vanilla, I am trying to find a very moist cake recipe!!? I searched online and most recipes have ingredients I don’t use or made with box cakes. I did find one that I would have to pay for to view the recipe so I passed that one up.
I’m pretty new to this so hope I am doing this edit thing right. Sorry for not having more details but the list is so long on what I can’t eat is why I listed the ingredients I want to use but just need the best measurements of those ingredients to get the most moist cake possible. I can’t have anything crunchy, no juices, no chocolate, nothing spicey and as much as I love puddings I would not be able to use any sweeters in it so that’s out, too. I want to try to find something that will taste good to me since there is so few foods I can eat so sugar free is out. It’s not as hard on me having sugar in the cake as it is pudding. No artificial sweetners, either. I am so limited on what I can eat so I know there won’t be many recipes. I hope this edit won’t delete my first post with the list of ingredients I want to use; flour (not cake flour, just all purpose flour), milk, butter, sugar, eggs, baking powder and/or baking soda, and vanilla flavor. I listed them again just incase it does.

Thank you for shedding a little more light on your requirements, I’m sure that this recipe will fit the bill. You will notice that there is a combination of shortening and butter, the butter is used for additional moisture, if you wish you can use all butter, margarine or shortening as long as the amount stays the same, moisture content is controlled by the “fats” in the butter. Please enjoy.

Yellow Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
1 cup milk
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 eggs

Prep:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9×13 inch pan. Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating just to combine. Finally, stir in vanilla. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

I have just perfected my blueberry cheesecake. Mix: 3 cream cheese , 3/4 cup sugar, 1 package of sour cream, 1 cup all purpose cream, 4 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Crust: mix crushed grahams and butter (6 tbsp) . Put a wax paper or aluminum foil on the pan coz it might stick.

Pour the mixture on the crust and bake for 40 mins

Pour a can of blueberry preserves on top then chill.
